OVERVIEW

Who it's for

We're a Perth cleaning business that works with NDIS participants. We are not a registered NDIS provider — which means we can work with you if your plan is self-managed or plan-managed. If your plan is NDIA-managed, you'll need a registered provider for this support, and we're happy to help you find the right direction rather than suggest otherwise.

Being unregistered doesn’t mean unaccountable. The NDIS Code of Conduct applies to every NDIS provider and worker, registered or not, and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission can act on complaints about any of us. We think that’s worth explaining plainly, because a lot of the marketing in this space either implies a registration status that doesn’t exist, or stays vague enough that a participant can’t tell what they’re actually getting.

We invoice in the format your plan manager needs, and we charge NDIS participants the same rates we charge everyone else — the service and the pricing are the same regardless of how a job is being paid for.

COMMON PROBLEMS

Common questions we help with

  • Not knowing if an unregistered provider can be used at allSelf-managed and plan-managed participants can use an unregistered provider like us for cleaning. NDIA-managed participants need a registered provider — we’ll be upfront if that’s your situation.
  • Wondering what accountability exists without registrationThe NDIS Code of Conduct binds every NDIS provider and worker, registered or not, and the Commission can act on complaints — accountability doesn’t depend on registration status.
  • Needing an invoice your plan manager can actually processWe invoice in the format your plan manager needs, so payment isn’t held up by paperwork that doesn’t match what they’re expecting.
  • Wanting the same cleaner each visit, not a rotating strangerContinuity matters more in a support context than almost anywhere else — we assign the same cleaner to your home wherever the roster allows.
  • Needing scheduling that fits around therapy, appointments or routineFrequency and timing are arranged around the participant’s routine and preferences, not a fixed slot that doesn’t fit their week.

HOW IT WORKS

How it works

  1. Initial conversation

We talk with the participant, their family, or their support coordinator or plan manager to understand what’s needed and how the plan is managed.

  2. Agree the scope in plain language

What rooms, what tasks, how often — documented clearly, so the participant, their coordinator and their plan manager all have the same understanding.

  3. Meet the cleaner

Where possible, we arrange an introductory visit so the participant is comfortable with their cleaner before a regular program begins.

  4. Ongoing, flexible delivery

Regular cleans delivered consistently, with direct communication to the participant or their coordinator if anything needs adjusting.

IN DETAIL

Being clear about what we are and aren’t

Registered vs unregistered — what it actually changes

A registered NDIS provider has been assessed against the NDIS Practice Standards and is registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. We are not registered. In practice, that mostly matters for how you pay: self-managed participants pay a provider directly and claim from the NDIA, and plan-managed participants have a registered plan manager pay approved invoices on their behalf — both of those pathways work with an unregistered provider like us. NDIA-managed (agency-managed) participants pay providers through the NDIA portal directly, and that portal is only available to registered providers, so that funding pathway needs a registered provider instead.

Accountability doesn’t require registration

The NDIS Code of Conduct applies to every NDIS provider and worker in Australia, whether they’re registered or not, and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission has powers to investigate complaints and take action against unregistered providers as well as registered ones. We think that’s an important thing for a participant or their family to know, because a vague "NDIS friendly" claim on a cleaning company’s website tells you nothing about what actually happens if something goes wrong.

NDIS cleaning FAQ

Does the NDIS cover house cleaning?

Cleaning can be funded through a participant’s Core Supports budget where it relates to a disability-related need. Whether it’s covered for you depends on your specific plan — your support coordinator or plan manager can confirm what your plan allows.

Can I use an unregistered provider for cleaning?

If your plan is self-managed or plan-managed, yes. We are not a registered NDIS provider, so we can work with self-managed and plan-managed participants. NDIA-managed participants need a registered provider for this support.

What’s the difference between self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed?

Self-managed means the participant pays providers directly and claims from the NDIA. Plan-managed means a registered plan manager pays approved invoices on the participant’s behalf. NDIA-managed means claims go through the NDIA portal directly, which only accepts registered providers.

Do I need a registered NDIS provider?

Only if your plan is NDIA-managed, or if you specifically require a registered provider for another reason. Self-managed and plan-managed participants can use us.

Are you a registered NDIS provider?

No. We’re upfront about that rather than implying a status we don’t hold. Being unregistered doesn’t mean unaccountable — the NDIS Code of Conduct applies to us regardless, and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission can act on complaints about any provider.

How do I pay — do you invoice my plan manager?

Yes, we invoice in the format your plan manager needs. If you’re self-managed, we invoice you directly and you claim from the NDIA.

Do you charge NDIS participants more than other clients?

No — we charge NDIS participants the same rates we charge everyone else.

Can I have the same cleaner every visit?

Wherever our roster allows, yes. Continuity matters a great deal in a support context, and we prioritise assigning the same cleaner to your home.

What if I need to change or cancel a visit?

Let us know and we’ll reschedule — there’s no lock-in contract, and we understand that routines and needs can change.

Do I need to be home for the clean, or can someone else let you in?

Either works — we agree access arrangements with the participant, a family member or support coordinator before the first visit.

Can my support coordinator arrange this for me?

Yes, we’re happy to talk directly with a support coordinator or family member to set up the service and agree the scope in plain language.
