All questions
162 questions answered.
How is your cleaning priced?
Pricing depends on the size of the site, the scope of work and how often you need us. We prefer to scope the job — often with a free site walkthrough — and give you a clear, fixed price rather than a vague hourly estimate. Request a quote and we'll come back to you promptly.
Do you lock clients into long contracts?
No. We'd rather keep your business by holding the standard than by holding you to a contract. We can arrange ongoing schedules or one-off cleans to suit you.
Are you insured?
Yes. Genre Solutions carries $20 million public liability insurance, and our compliance details are available for commercial buyers on request.
Can you clean after hours or on weekends?
Yes. We offer after-hours and weekend cleaning by arrangement, typically with as little as one day's notice, so we work around your business rather than through it.
Do you offer a free site walkthrough before quoting?
Yes. For commercial sites we recommend a free, no-obligation walkthrough so we can document the scope accurately and quote the real job — no surprises later.
Which areas of Perth do you service?
We service businesses right across the Perth metro. We're based in the Armadale area and regularly work in the CBD, West Perth, Subiaco, Osborne Park, Welshpool, Malaga and surrounding suburbs.
What kind of cleaning do you specialise in?
We serve commercial, industrial, mining and residential clients across Western Australia — from routine and deep cleaning to office maintenance, site accommodation cleaning and specialised services.
How quickly can you start?
After a walkthrough and an agreed scope, we can usually get started quickly — often within a day or two for straightforward sites. Tell us your deadline and we'll be honest about what's achievable.
Will I get the same cleaners each visit?
Wherever possible, yes. Consistent crews learn your site and hold the standard, and our team is easy to reach and responsive if anything needs adjusting.
How often should each area of the office actually be cleaned?
It varies by zone — reception, washrooms and kitchens generally need a daily clean, boardrooms and workstations can often run on a lighter cycle, and things like lift interiors or bin rooms suit a weekly full clean with daily spot attention. We set the actual frequency by zone with you at the site walkthrough, not as a one-size schedule.
Do you manage after-hours access with our building management?
Yes. We coordinate directly with building management for access, key or fob handling and loading dock bookings where required, so after-hours cleaning does not become an administrative job for you.
Is your colour-coded cleaning system an Australian Standard?
No — there is no Australian Standard mandating cleaning-cloth colour coding. It is an industry convention we follow as our own documented practice, not a legal requirement.
Does using your cleaning service improve our NABERS rating?
No, and any cleaning company that claims it does is not being accurate. NABERS rates buildings, tenancies and spaces — never companies — and cleaning is not one of the five NABERS Indoor Environment parameters.
Can you support our Green Star Green Cleaning credit?
If your building is pursuing Green Star – Performance, we can align our products and cleaning records to support the Green Cleaning credit, which explicitly names cleaning contracts. We only claim use of a GECA-certified product where that specific product is in GECA's public directory.
Are your staff paid award rates?
We are owner-operated with direct employment and no subcontract chain. We don't publish specific award figures on this page because rates change with each Annual Wage Review and depend on the applicable industrial system — happy to discuss our employment arrangements directly, and the Fair Work Ombudsman's Pay Guide has the current figures.
What happens to washroom consumables between visits?
Consumable levels are checked and topped up as part of every visit, so restocking is built into the scope rather than something you have to flag separately.
Do you clean kitchens and bin rooms every visit?
Yes — kitchens and bin areas get attention on every visit, not just a light wipe. Bins are emptied and lined, benches and sinks cleaned, and floors done as standard.
Can you clean our carpet as well as the daily office clean?
Daily and weekly cleaning covers vacuuming and traffic-lane attention. For a full carpet deep clean, that sits under our separate carpet cleaning service and is typically scheduled periodically rather than every visit.
Do you handle wet-floor safety during cleaning hours?
Yes — wet-floor signage and sequencing work away from active foot traffic are part of our standard method, since cleaning itself can create a slip hazard if it is not managed properly.
Can you scale the service if we move to a bigger tenancy?
Yes — we scope the program to your actual floor plan and amenities count, whether that is a single-floor suburban office or a multi-level corporate tenancy, and revisit the scope as your needs change.
Do you clean to RACGP or NSQHS infection control standards?
It depends on your practice type. General practices accredit against the RACGP Standards for general practices, not NSQHS. Hospitals and day procedure services sit under NSQHS Standard 3, Action 3.13. We align our method with whichever framework genuinely applies to your practice.
What's included in a standard medical centre clean?
Waiting room and reception, consult and treatment rooms, washrooms and clinical waste segregation, cleaned to a documented, risk-zoned schedule agreed with your practice manager. High-touch surfaces are prioritised on every visit.
Do you use hospital-grade, TGA-listed disinfectants?
We use products matched to the actual risk level of each area. A product can only be labelled "hospital grade" if it has passed that testing, and we do not describe our general cleaning that way unless the specific product genuinely carries it. We follow a detergent-first method with disinfection where the risk level calls for it.
How do you prevent cross-contamination between clinical and non-clinical areas?
Colour-coded, single-use-per-zone equipment keeps washroom, clinical and general areas separated, and high-touch surfaces are cleaned more frequently than low-touch ones. This is our documented practice, aligned with jurisdictional cleaning conventions rather than a single mandated national scheme.
What is a colour-coded cleaning system?
Dedicated cloths, mops and equipment assigned by colour to a specific zone — washrooms, clinical areas, general areas and kitchens — so equipment used in a high-risk area never moves to a lower-risk one. There's no single Australian Standard mandating a particular scheme; it is a well-established convention we follow as documented practice.
Are your cleaners trained in infection control?
Our crews are trained in the detergent-first, risk-triggered cleaning method used in healthcare settings, standard precautions, spills management and clinical waste segregation. Training records are kept and available to support your own accreditation evidence.
Do your cleaners have National Police Clearances?
Yes. Every crew member entering a medical or clinical environment holds a current National Police Clearance, and we confirm any additional screening a specific practice requires before work begins.
Do you handle clinical waste or sharps?
We segregate clinical waste into your compliant containers and coordinate collection timing with your licensed clinical-waste carrier. We do not transport clinical waste ourselves — that requires a DWER controlled waste carrier licence, which we do not hold.
Can you help us prepare for AGPAL or QPA accreditation?
We supply the cleaning documentation your accreditation assessors typically ask for — signed schedules, task records and training evidence. We do not hold or claim AGPAL, QPA or RACGP accreditation ourselves; those accredit practices, not cleaning contractors.
Do you provide documented cleaning schedules and sign-off sheets for our audit evidence?
Yes. Every visit produces a signed record of what was cleaned, when and with what product, so your practice has the paper trail an accreditation assessor or auditor typically asks to see.
What's your process for a blood or body fluid spill?
Affected surfaces are cleaned with detergent first, since disinfectants are inactivated by organic soil and cannot work on a contaminated surface, then disinfected with manufacturer contact time observed. This is handled as an immediate task, not left to the next scheduled visit.
Do you clean treatment rooms differently from waiting rooms?
Yes. Treatment and consult rooms are cleaned to a higher frequency and stricter method because they carry higher-risk, frequently touched surfaces, while waiting rooms follow a high-touch-point schedule appropriate to a lower-risk area.
Can you clean a warehouse while it is still operating?
Yes. Most of the warehouses we work in run continuously, so we schedule floor scrubbing, high-level dusting and other work around shift patterns, shutdown windows or quiet periods, and agree exclusion zones with your site supervisor before we start.
Do you inspect our racking as part of the clean?
No. We clean dust and grime from racking uprights, beams and connections so the steel is visible for whoever performs your racking inspection, but we do not perform AS 4084 racking inspections ourselves — that is a separate, qualified function.
How do you control dust so it does not just resettle?
We use wet floor-cleaning methods rather than dry sweeping or pressurised air blowing on concrete floors carrying dust. This suppresses dust rather than lifting it into the air and letting it resettle elsewhere on the site.
Is dry sweeping a health and safety issue?
It can be. WorkSafe WA treats sweeping or pressurised air blowing of dust containing crystalline silica as covered high-risk work. That is a real reason to prefer wet methods on a dusty concrete floor, not just a presentation choice.
How often should warehouse floors be scrubbed?
It depends on traffic and dust load, but weekly floor scrubbing with daily spot cleaning of spills is a common baseline for an operating warehouse. We agree the actual frequency with you based on your site.
Can you clean before our racking inspection?
Yes — we can schedule a dust-removal clean of racking ahead of your inspection date so the steel is visible for the inspector. We do not perform the inspection itself.
Do you handle food-grade warehouses that need to be audited?
Yes. Under Standard 3.2.2 of the Food Standards Code, cleaning and sanitising are two distinct steps, and items must be cleaned before they are sanitised. We work to your documented cleaning schedule and support your audit requirements. We are not HACCP certified and do not claim to be.
Are your crews forklift-aware?
Yes, our crews work around active forklift traffic as a normal part of industrial site work, and we agree exclusion zones and safe work areas with your site supervisor before starting.
Do you clean loading docks and external hardstand as well?
Yes — loading docks and external hardstand can be cleaned on the same schedule as the internal warehouse floor, or booked as a standalone job.
Can you work weekends or during a shutdown?
Yes, weekend and shutdown-window scheduling is common for warehouse and industrial cleaning, particularly for high-level dusting or floor work that is easier to do without traffic on the floor.
What equipment do you use for high-level dusting?
We scope high-level dusting to the access method appropriate for your site and confirm equipment and capability with you before quoting — we don't claim equipment we don't own, and we're upfront if a job needs specialist access gear.
Do you provide any compliance documentation for our contractor onboarding?
Yes — we hold $20 million public liability insurance and police-checked crews, and can complete site-specific inductions before commencing work.
What is a builders clean and what does it include?
A builders clean covers everything from bulk debris and dust removal during construction through to the detailed clean before handover — glass, tracks, hardware, cabinetry, grout haze and surface detail. We break it into stages (rough, final, sparkle, defect) and scope each one on its own terms rather than quoting a single flat-rate line item.
What's the difference between a builders clean and a vacate or bond clean?
A builders clean is done on a construction or renovation site and is measured against a build program and practical completion. A vacate clean is done at the end of a residential tenancy and is measured against the property condition when the tenant moved in. The methods overlap, but the standard each is judged against is different.
When in the build should a clean be booked?
A rough clean typically happens after structure and services are in but before finishing trades start, to make the site safe and workable. The final or detail clean happens pre-practical completion. A sparkle clean happens immediately before handover or a client walkthrough, and a defect clean happens after a remedial trade returns during the defect liability period.
Do you do rough cleans as well as final cleans?
Yes. We can cover the full sequence — rough, final, sparkle and defect — or just the stage or stages you need, fitted around your project program.
How do you handle construction dust safely?
WorkSafe WA treats sweeping or pressurised air blowing of dust containing crystalline silica as high-risk work in its own right, not just the cutting or grinding that created the dust. We favour wet methods and vacuum-led dust control over dry sweeping and blowing down, particularly on sites carrying concrete, tile, stone or masonry dust.
Do your crews have site induction?
We coordinate access, induction requirements and any restricted areas with your site supervisor before the crew arrives, and work within whatever induction system your site runs.
Can you remove paint, silicone, adhesive and stickers from glass?
Yes, as part of a final or detail clean. Where a surface is scratched or damaged rather than soiled — for example etched glass or protective film that has bonded to the surface — that is damage, not cleaning, and we flag it before we start rather than after.
Can you get grout haze and mortar off new tiling without scratching it?
Tile grout haze and mortar splatter need the right chemistry and technique to lift without marking the surface. We treat it as its own step in the final clean rather than folding it into a general wipe-down.
Why does a properly done final clean matter for the defect list?
Dust and residue mask genuine defects at inspection, and a rushed clean can create defect items of its own — silicone smears, grout haze, adhesive residue, mortar on frames. Treating the final clean properly reduces both the number of defects raised and the number of return trade visits needed to close them out.
Do you supply a SWMS for construction sites?
A Safe Work Method Statement is a legal requirement specifically for high risk construction work, not a blanket requirement for every task on a site. We supply one where your principal contractor requires it, or where the task meets the definition of high risk construction work.
Can you work around other trades still on site?
Yes. We work to the timeline you give us and coordinate directly with your site supervisor on access and sequencing, so the clean fits around trades still finishing on site rather than holding up the program.
Do you clean the garage, alfresco, driveway and site perimeter?
Yes, as part of the scope we agree with you. Heavier hardstand or driveway soiling from construction is often better suited to a pressure clean, which we can pair with the builders clean as a single booking.
Will high-pressure cleaning damage limestone, exposed aggregate or render?
It can, if the wrong pressure is used. Limestone and exposed aggregate are porous and softer than plain concrete and can abrade or "fur up" under high pressure, and render is more at risk from pressure than from water temperature. We match pressure and nozzle to the surface before we start — unsealed concrete tolerates far more pressure than limestone, render or Colorbond, so we never run one setting across a whole site.
What's the difference between pressure cleaning and soft washing?
Pressure cleaning uses higher water pressure to physically strip dirt and staining off a hard surface. Soft washing uses low pressure with a cleaning solution left to work on algae, moss and lichen before rinsing — it treats the biological growth rather than just knocking the visible layer off. We use soft washing on roofs and shaded, growth-affected surfaces, and higher pressure on hardstand and concrete that can take it.
Can you remove bore-water iron staining permanently?
We can treat and rinse iron staining back on brick, limestone, concrete and fencing, but we won't tell you it's gone for good — while a bore keeps running through reticulation, staining will build up again over time. Periodic treatment, rather than a single fix, is the honest way to manage it.
Do you use hot water? Do I need it?
We don't currently operate hot-water pressure units. Hot water helps most on heavy oil and grease; for general soiling, dirt and algae, cold-water pressure cleaning with the right chemistry and dwell time is effective. If your site has heavy hydrocarbon staining, ask us about pre-treatment as part of the quote.
Where does the dirty water go — is it legal to wash it into the drain?
No — only rainwater is meant to enter a stormwater drain, and discharging contaminated wastewater to stormwater is an offence under WA environmental law. On sites where washdown water could reach a drain uncontrolled, we sweep or vacuum loose material first and manage the runoff, rather than hosing straight to the gutter. Any washdown area with a permanent connection to sewer needs its own Water Corporation trade waste permit, which sits with the site owner, not with us.
Are we allowed to pressure clean under Perth's water restrictions?
Generally yes — WA water restriction rules allow a high-pressure cleaner or handheld hose to be used to the minimum extent necessary to clean an existing building, building site or paved area for public health or safety reasons. We use methods that keep water use to what the job actually needs — sweeping first, targeted chemistry and a surface cleaner rather than an open wand on large areas.
How often should a commercial car park or hardstand be cleaned?
It depends on soiling type and how exposed the area is — a shaded, damp car park will need biological growth managed more often than a sun-exposed hardstand. We're happy to recommend a schedule once we've seen the site, rather than quote a generic interval that doesn't reflect your conditions.
What's the best time of year to have exterior surfaces cleaned in Perth?
Perth gets roughly three-quarters of its annual rainfall between May and September, so algae, moss and lichen tend to establish over that wet window and then bake into the surface over summer. We generally recommend scheduling exterior cleaning in the August–October window — after the wet months but before summer sets the growth in — though this is our scheduling recommendation, not a fixed rule.
Do you remove oil and grease stains, or just general dirt?
Both. Oil and grease on concrete respond to pre-treatment ahead of the main pressure clean, and we treat contaminated loading bays and car park bays as their own step rather than folding them into a general wash.
Can you work after hours so we don’t need to close the car park or loading bay?
Yes, by arrangement. Out-of-hours access and reduced disruption to trading or loading activity are both things we scope into the quote alongside area and surface type.
Will pressure cleaning make a surface more slippery?
Done correctly, the opposite — removing built-up algae and biofilm restores grip underfoot rather than reducing it. If your site has a formal slip-risk register, AS 4663 is the Australian Standard for measuring slip resistance change on existing surfaces from cleaning and maintenance, and we can flag that as the right next step if you want it independently tested. We don't perform AS 4663 testing ourselves.
Do we need to supply water and power on site?
We confirm water and power availability as part of scoping the job — access to a water source and, where needed, power is one of the factors that affects how a site is quoted. Let us know what's available on site when you request a quote.
How often should carpet be professionally cleaned?
The Carpet Institute of Australia advises having carpet professionally deep cleaned every 12 to 18 months to retain its appearance for as long as possible. That is the interval we work to when recommending a maintenance schedule.
Does carpet cleaning affect my carpet warranty?
Most Australian carpet warranties require documented professional cleaning at set intervals, commonly every 12 to 18 months, to remain valid. Check your own warranty documentation for the exact requirement and keep the invoice we provide as your record.
Steam cleaning vs dry cleaning — which do I need?
Hot-water extraction (often marketed as "steam cleaning", though it is not actually steam) reaches embedded soil deep in the pile and is the right choice for a periodic deep clean. Encapsulation uses far less moisture, dries much faster and suits interim maintenance on busy areas that cannot be taken out of service for long. Neither is universally better — it depends on the carpet and the situation.
How long will my carpet take to dry?
It depends on humidity, airflow, pile density and how thorough the extraction was, so we won't quote a guaranteed drying time. As a general range, carpet is usually safe to walk on within four to six hours, with full drying taking up to 24 hours. Winter months need more airflow and more extraction passes to dry in the same range.
Will steam cleaning shrink or damage my carpet?
Used with the right method and the right amount of moisture for the fibre, hot-water extraction should not damage a carpet in good condition. Wool needs particular care, because elevated alkalinity and over-wetting readily damage wool fibres — we use gentler products and less moisture on wool carpet than on synthetic carpet.
Do I need to move the furniture?
We can work around furniture left in place, but moving smaller items beforehand gives us better access and a more even result. Let us know what's practical for your situation when you book.
Can you clean wool carpet?
Yes. Wool needs different handling to synthetic carpet — lower alkalinity and less moisture, because over-wetting and harsh products readily damage wool fibres. We treat wool as its own job rather than using a standard synthetic-carpet approach.
Do you clean rugs, mattresses and lounges too?
Yes, alongside carpet. Rugs, mattresses and upholstered furniture are scoped and quoted the same way — based on size, fibre and condition, not a flat per-room rate.
Will stains come back after cleaning?
Sometimes, and it usually means the stain has wicked back up rather than been missed. Residue sitting deeper in the pile or backing can migrate to the surface as the carpet dries. Traffic lanes also resoil faster than the rest of a carpet because they carry more foot traffic and fine particulate between cleans.
Do you provide a receipt for my vacate inspection?
Yes, every job gets a dated invoice. Many leases expect a professional carpet cleaning receipt where pets were kept — check your own lease for the exact requirement.
What does carpet cleaning actually remove?
Extraction physically removes soil, particulate, hair, dander and dust-mite matter present in the pile. Regular vacuuming with good filtration between professional cleans also does a lot for day-to-day particulate levels — it is worth doing alongside periodic deep cleans, not instead of them.
Can you clean commercial carpet after hours?
Yes. Office and tenancy carpet cleaning is commonly scheduled after hours or on weekends so the space is back in use the next business day, and encapsulation is often the better fit where an area needs to return to service quickly.
Will I get the same cleaners each visit?
Wherever possible, yes. Consistent crews learn your site and hold the standard, and our team is easy to reach and responsive if anything needs adjusting.
Does strata cleaning have anything to do with the Strata Titles Act?
Yes, indirectly. The Strata Titles Act 1985 (WA) places a duty on the strata company to control, manage and maintain common property in good repair — that duty now sits in section 91 of the Act, following reforms that commenced 1 May 2020. Cleaning common areas is one of the ways that duty gets discharged day to day. We're not a strata manager and this isn't legal advice, but we do provide the scheduled cleaning and reporting that helps a strata company evidence it's meeting that obligation.
What common areas do you clean?
Lobbies, lifts, stairwells, corridors, bin rooms, car parks and common grounds — the full scope of common property in a scheme. We agree the exact zones and frequency with your strata manager at a walkthrough.
Do you clean commercial or industrial strata complexes?
Yes. Multi-unit warehouse and workshop complexes with shared driveways, bin areas and car parks are still strata schemes, just with commercial tenants rather than residents. The cleaning needs are different in emphasis — more hardstand and car park work, less lobby presentation — but the same scheduled, reported service applies.
Can you keep fire egress paths clear?
Yes — keeping stairwells, corridors and fire-stair landings clear of rubbish and dumped goods is part of every scheduled visit, and any obstruction is photographed and reported with a date. We do not perform any licensed fire-safety work such as testing, tagging or certifying extinguishers or fire doors — that is separate, licensed work under AS 1851, and it stays with a licensed fire protection contractor.
How do you handle car park cleaning and stormwater rules?
We sweep and remove litter and sediment before any wet cleaning, block or bund stormwater gullies before washing, and avoid detergent where runoff could reach a drain — only rainwater is meant to go into a stormwater drain. Oil stains are treated as a spot task, not hosed toward a gully. A full pressure clean of a car park is scoped and quoted separately.
Do you handle pest control in bin rooms or common areas?
No. Pest control is licensed work in Western Australia. We report conducive conditions we notice — such as accumulated waste or signs of pests — so the strata manager can arrange a licensed pest control operator, but we do not treat pests ourselves.
How does completion reporting work?
Every scheduled visit is confirmed, and we can include details such as whether egress paths were clear, any obstructions or damage noted with photos, consumable levels in shared amenities, and any pest-conducive conditions observed. This gives a strata manager or committee member a record of the work without needing to be on-site.
Are you insured for strata and common-area work?
Yes — $20 million public liability insurance, and our crews are police-checked. Certificates and compliance documentation are available on request for committee or strata manager records.
How is strata cleaning priced?
On the number of lots, storeys and lifts in the scheme, the visit frequency agreed for each zone, the number and size of bin rooms, car park area, and whether periodic work such as pressure cleaning sits in the administrative fund or the reserve fund. We quote after a walkthrough rather than a flat per-scheme rate.
Can cleaning proposals be structured for an AGM?
Yes. We can itemise scope, frequency and cost — including a per-lot-per-week figure — in a way that's easier for a strata manager to put before a council of owners or an AGM than a single lump-sum quote.
Do you hold Strata Community Association membership?
We don't currently hold or claim SCA (WA) membership. If that changes, we'll state the exact membership category rather than imply a broader endorsement than the membership actually represents.
Is there an Australian or AUSactive standard for gym hygiene?
No. There is no Australian Standard and no AUSactive standard covering gym hygiene or cleaning. AUSactive publishes a voluntary Code of Practice, but it covers business conduct and consumer agreements, not hygiene. We work to our own documented method rather than claiming a standard that doesn’t exist.
Is gym equipment actually a big infection risk?
The evidence is more reassuring than most marketing suggests. A widely cited study cultured 240 gym surfaces and found none positive for MRSA or MSSA, concluding gym surfaces don’t appear to be a significant transmission route. The genuinely evidence-supported risk area is wet areas like showers, not equipment surfaces.
How often are change rooms and showers cleaned?
Daily minimum, as the area with the strongest hygiene case — wet floors are a recognised site for picking up tinea (athlete’s foot). We treat wet areas as the priority zone rather than an equal-weight part of a general clean.
Do you use bleach or harsh chemicals on gym equipment?
Product choice depends on the surface and the manufacturer’s own guidance, which varies between equipment brands. We don’t make a blanket "we follow all manufacturer protocols" claim because manufacturers genuinely conflict — we ask what’s on your floor and clean accordingly.
Will cleaning damage our rubber flooring?
We stay within the neutral pH range (roughly 7 to 9) that rubber flooring manufacturers specify, which protects the flooring rather than causing the swelling or softening that harsher products can cause over time.
Can you clean before opening or after closing?
Yes. Most gym cleaning happens before open, after close, or in a quiet window between class blocks, so it doesn’t interrupt members or trainers.
Do you handle pool or spa water treatment?
No — pool and spa water treatment is a licensed, specialist task and separate from cleaning. We clean surfaces around pool and wet areas but don’t manage water chemistry.
How do your crews access the facility outside staffed hours?
Insured, police-checked crews handle key, fob or alarm access arrangements agreed with you, so early-morning or after-hours cleaning doesn’t need staff on site to let us in.
Do you clean equipment touchpoints during opening hours?
Depending on your facility and throughput, we can agree a schedule that includes touchpoint attention during the day as well as a full clean outside hours — this is set at the quote stage.
What’s included in a standard gym clean?
Equipment touchpoints, floors and mats, mirrors and glass, change rooms, showers and general amenities, cleaned in a consistent sequence each visit. The exact scope is agreed at quote stage based on your facility.
How often should a childcare centre be cleaned?
We schedule to NHMRC Staying Healthy Table 3.1 (6th edition, 2024): bathrooms, doorknobs and floors daily and when visibly dirty; mouthed toys daily; all toys washed at day's end; nappy-change surfaces after every change. This is a national guideline, not our own invented schedule.
Do your cleaners have Working with Children Checks?
We confirm the screening requirements for each childcare site before any crew member starts. A National Police Clearance is not a substitute for a Working with Children Check, and we treat WWC coverage as a site-specific confirmation rather than a blanket claim.
What cleaning products do you use around children?
Detergent-based products applied per national hygiene guidance, which specifically advises against using vinegar or bicarbonate of soda as cleaning products because they are less effective against germs. We do not market "chemical-free" cleaning, because it works against the guidance rather than with it.
Do you clean and sanitise toys and soft furnishings?
Mouthed toys are cleaned daily, and all toys are washed at the end of every day, particularly in rooms with younger children — following Staying Healthy Table 3.1. Soft furnishings are cleaned per your centre's own policy and laundering arrangements.
How do you clean nappy change areas?
The change surface is cleaned after every single nappy change. Where body fluids have made contact, it is cleaned and then disinfected — the two-step method the national guidance describes, rather than disinfectant used as a blanket substitute for cleaning.
Can you clean after hours?
Yes. Most childcare and aged care cleaning is scheduled before opening, after closing, or during designated low-occupancy periods to minimise contact with children or residents.
Will your cleaning schedule stand up at an assessment and rating visit?
We schedule to NHMRC Staying Healthy Table 3.1 and keep documented records of what was cleaned and when. We can't guarantee an assessment outcome — that depends on far more than cleaning — but the paperwork behind our clean is ready if an assessor asks for it.
Do you understand the Aged Care Quality Standards?
Yes. We work to the current strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, in effect since 1 November 2025, rather than the previous eight-Standard framework some competitor pages still reference. The service environment sits under the strengthened Standard covering the environment.
Are your cleaners police cleared and NDIS worker screened?
All crew members are police-checked. NDIS Worker Screening is a separate check from a police clearance or a Working with Children Check, with no cross-exemption between them — we confirm which specific screening a site requires before work begins.
How do you handle a gastro or respiratory outbreak?
We deliver enhanced cleaning under your facility's infection-control direction during a declared outbreak, following the two-step clean-then-disinfect method. Outbreak management itself is a clinical decision led by the facility — we don't direct the response.
Do you clean resident rooms as well as communal areas?
Yes. Resident rooms, bathrooms and ensuites are cleaned daily alongside communal and dining areas, with high-touch surfaces attended to more frequently in shared-use zones.
Are your cleaners trained to work respectfully around residents with dementia?
Our crews are briefed on working calmly and predictably around aged care residents, including minimising disruption in communal areas and following facility guidance on resident interaction.
Does the NDIS cover house cleaning?
Cleaning can be funded through a participant’s Core Supports budget where it relates to a disability-related need. Whether it’s covered for you depends on your specific plan — your support coordinator or plan manager can confirm what your plan allows.
Can I use an unregistered provider for cleaning?
If your plan is self-managed or plan-managed, yes. We are not a registered NDIS provider, so we can work with self-managed and plan-managed participants. NDIA-managed participants need a registered provider for this support.
What’s the difference between self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed?
Self-managed means the participant pays providers directly and claims from the NDIA. Plan-managed means a registered plan manager pays approved invoices on the participant’s behalf. NDIA-managed means claims go through the NDIA portal directly, which only accepts registered providers.
Do I need a registered NDIS provider?
Only if your plan is NDIA-managed, or if you specifically require a registered provider for another reason. Self-managed and plan-managed participants can use us.
Are you a registered NDIS provider?
No. We’re upfront about that rather than implying a status we don’t hold. Being unregistered doesn’t mean unaccountable — the NDIS Code of Conduct applies to us regardless, and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission can act on complaints about any provider.
How do I pay — do you invoice my plan manager?
Yes, we invoice in the format your plan manager needs. If you’re self-managed, we invoice you directly and you claim from the NDIA.
Do you charge NDIS participants more than other clients?
No — we charge NDIS participants the same rates we charge everyone else.
Can I have the same cleaner every visit?
Wherever our roster allows, yes. Continuity matters a great deal in a support context, and we prioritise assigning the same cleaner to your home.
What if I need to change or cancel a visit?
Let us know and we’ll reschedule — there’s no lock-in contract, and we understand that routines and needs can change.
Do I need to be home for the clean, or can someone else let you in?
Either works — we agree access arrangements with the participant, a family member or support coordinator before the first visit.
Can my support coordinator arrange this for me?
Yes, we’re happy to talk directly with a support coordinator or family member to set up the service and agree the scope in plain language.
What’s included in a standard house clean?
Kitchen surfaces, bathrooms, floors, dusting and general tidying, agreed as a written scope before the first visit. Add-ons like ovens, inside cupboards, windows or alfresco areas are available and agreed upfront.
Will I get the same cleaner every time?
Wherever our roster allows, yes — we assign the same cleaner to your home each visit, so you’re not re-explaining preferences to a new person every time.
Do I need to be home when the cleaner comes?
No, as long as we’ve agreed how access works — a securely held key, a door code, or another arrangement that suits you. That’s something we agree before the first clean, not left as an assumption.
Is it a regular clean or can I book a one-off?
Both. We offer weekly and fortnightly regular cleans as well as one-off deep cleans, spring cleans and pre-sale cleans — with no lock-in contract either way.
What’s the difference between a regular clean and a deep clean?
A regular clean maintains a home that’s already in reasonable order. A deep clean covers more ground — detail work like skirtings, inside cupboards and build-up that a regular clean isn’t scoped to reach — and is typically booked first or seasonally.
Do you clean if I have pets?
Yes. Let us know at quote stage so we can plan around pet hair, access and any areas that need extra attention.
How do you handle keys and access?
We agree this before the first visit — a securely held key, a code shared for the day, or you being home. Only the cleaner assigned to your home has access, not a rotating pool of staff.
Do you clean outside — alfresco, patios and windows?
Alfresco and outdoor living areas are commonly left out of standard scopes elsewhere in the market — we include them in the scope conversation and agree upfront whether they’re covered.
What can’t a house clean fix?
A house clean won’t remove bore-water staining baked into exterior surfaces, mould embedded in grout, or damage — those need pressure cleaning, specialist treatment or repair rather than a standard clean.
Can I cancel or reschedule a booking?
Yes — there’s no lock-in contract. Regular cleans can be paused, rescheduled or stopped as your circumstances change.
Are your cleaners insured and police-checked?
Yes. Genre Solutions carries public liability insurance and every cleaner is police-checked before entering a client’s home.
Do I legally have to get a professional vacate clean in WA?
No. There is no WA legal requirement to hire a professional cleaner when you move out. The legal standard, from Consumer Protection WA, is to leave the property in a similar condition to when you moved in, excluding fair wear and tear — you can meet that standard yourself if you choose to.
How clean does a rental have to be when I move out in WA?
Consumer Protection WA describes the standard as "a similar condition to when they moved in", with the tenant not responsible for fair wear and tear. That is a different, more realistic bar than "spotless" — ordinary wear from normal use over the length of a tenancy is not something you need to erase.
What is "fair wear and tear" in a WA rental?
It refers to the ordinary deterioration a property experiences from normal use over time — faded paint, worn carpet in traffic areas, minor scuffs. It is separate from damage, and a tenant is not responsible for repairing or restoring fair wear and tear.
Can my agent keep my bond for cleaning?
A landlord can make a claim against the bond if the property isn't left in a similar condition to move-in, excluding fair wear and tear. Whether a specific cleaning issue justifies a claim depends on the entry condition report and the actual state of the property — it isn't an automatic or unlimited right.
Who can apply to release the bond in WA, and how long does it take?
Under recent WA rental law reform, any party on the bond — tenant or landlord — can start the process to release it, rather than needing a jointly signed application. Where both parties agree, the bond is released; we cannot quote a specific processing time, as this depends on Consumer Protection WA and the individual case.
What happens if the landlord and I disagree about the bond?
If the parties disagree or one does not respond, the matter goes to a Commissioner determination through Consumer Protection WA. Residential tenancy disputes in WA are heard in the Magistrates Court, not the State Administrative Tribunal — a distinction some Perth vacate cleaning pages get wrong.
What does a vacate clean include — and what doesn't it include?
A standard vacate clean covers all rooms, the oven and rangehood, blinds, flyscreens, window tracks, light fittings and skirtings. Carpet steam cleaning is usually a separate line item. Pest or flea treatment, wall repainting and damage repair are not included — those are licensed, separate or non-cleaning tasks.
Is carpet cleaning included in a vacate clean?
Carpet steam cleaning is typically quoted as a separate line item rather than bundled into the base vacate clean price, since not every property has carpet or needs it. It can be booked at the same time as your vacate clean.
Do I need a professional carpet cleaning receipt if I had a pet?
Many leases include a term requiring a receipt for professional carpet cleaning where pets were kept, but this isn't a general requirement under WA law — it depends on your specific lease. Check your lease document rather than assuming either way.
How much does a vacate clean cost in Perth?
It depends on bedrooms and bathrooms, condition on the day, whether carpets need cleaning, oven condition, window count, pets, and whether the property is empty. We quote against the actual property rather than publishing a flat price list, because a fair quote needs to reflect the job in front of us.
What's a "bond back guarantee" and is it real?
A "bond back guarantee" is not a legal guarantee — no cleaning company can promise a bond outcome, because the bond is released by agreement between tenant and landlord, or by a Commissioner determination, and a cleaner has no role in that process. We do not make bond-outcome promises. If your property manager flags a cleaning item from our agreed scope, talk to us and we will address it.
Do I need to be at the final inspection?
A landlord must give you a reasonable chance to be at the final inspection if you want to attend, but it is not compulsory. Having your entry condition report on hand is useful whether or not you attend.
How long before my move-out date should I book?
We schedule around your lease-end date and can often fit in a booking within a day or two of your move-out, but booking earlier gives more flexibility on timing and any add-ons like carpet cleaning.
What if the property manager is not happy with the clean?
Tell us what's been flagged and we'll address anything within our agreed scope. We can't promise what happens to your bond as a result — that's a matter between you and your landlord or, if it goes that far, Consumer Protection WA — but we stand behind the clean we quoted.
Do you clean the oven, blinds, flyscreens, garage and windows?
Yes — the oven and rangehood, blinds, flyscreens, window tracks and interior windows are part of a standard vacate clean, and garage cleaning can be included in scope. Exterior window access and garage inclusion are confirmed at quote stage.
Do I need a weed hygiene certificate to move machinery in WA?
The Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act 2007 (WA) restricts moving declared pests within WA, but it doesn’t itself set out a weed hygiene certificate requirement for machinery. Where a weed hygiene procedure applies, it’s usually a condition of a specific site’s or permit’s requirements — we work to whatever procedure your site actually specifies.
What is a weed and seed washdown?
It’s a washdown focused on removing plant material and seed from machinery before it moves between sites, to reduce the risk of spreading weeds. We carry out washdowns to the procedure a site specifies rather than asserting a general certification.
Where does the wash water go — can I wash plant on my yard?
That depends on your yard’s setup. Water Corporation caps unroofed washdown areas at 20 square metres, requires an approved pre-treatment fixture before any discharge to sewer, and keeps stormwater and wastewater separate. We plan the method around those rules rather than assuming any yard is automatically suitable.
Do you have a wash bay or do you come to us?
We come to your site or yard and work within its existing setup and constraints. Whether a dedicated wash bay is available changes the method, not whether the job can happen.
Can you clean machinery before it goes on a float?
Yes — pre-transport and demobilisation cleaning is a distinct part of what we do, separate from a routine maintenance washdown.
How do you get red dust and iron ore residue off equipment?
Purpose-matched detergent and pressure lift ingrained red dirt and iron ore residue from bodywork, wheels and undercarriage without over-stripping paint or seals.
Do you degrease engine bays and undercarriages?
Yes, as a distinct step from the general washdown, planned around where the resulting wastewater is allowed to go.
Are your staff inducted for mine sites?
Site induction sits with the mine operator’s own safety management system and is specific to that site — we complete whatever induction a site requires before working there, rather than claiming a portable "mine site inducted" credential.
Do you clean plant for sale or auction?
Yes — presentation cleaning ahead of a private sale or auction listing is one of the services we offer, separate from a routine or pre-transport washdown.
Can you work after hours or during a shutdown?
Yes, work is planned around your production schedule and site access requirements, including shutdown windows where that suits your operation better.
Do you handle hydrocarbon-contaminated water?
We contain and manage wash water within the agreed method on site, but transporting contaminated wastewater off site requires a DWER controlled waste carrier licence, which we do not hold — that side of the work sits with a licensed operator.
